Hey all, I was wondering who here has done the Mt. Carmel and Queen of Heaven cemetery thing? I have done both. Now I have never caught anything myself but the history of the place is pretty interesting. Covering the Italian Bride, Al Capone (one of many famous Chicago Gangsters buried here). For more check out www.graveyards.com/IL/Cook/mtcarmel/ or www.weirdchicago.com/capone.html Right across the street from there is Queen of Heaven cemetery. There have also been stories associated with this one as well www.prairieghosts.com/virgin.html and www.answers.com/topic/our-lady-of-the-angels-school-fire and www.slivoski.com/angels/pagefour.htm Now I have yet to go there armed with more then just a camera but I am willing to take a trip at anytime anyone is interested. I know Doug expressed interest in these places this weekend. So anytime anyone wants to make a trek out there just let me know. Somewhere not too far away there is also a haunted pet cemetery as well that I could find the location to as well and we could hit all three. Something like this I would suggest doing once the snow is melted but I am game for trekking through the snow as Doug, Mike and George all know from this past weekend =0) Let me know your thought's and ideas! ~ Kristen ~

Thats a great idea...if you are going there, you can go to a few other places..."Showmans Rest"....for one..there are a few more we could go take a day trip to.
Lets get it together...

[glow=red,2,300]Alright,
Whoever is interested please let me know which day and time is best for all. People coming from the North can meet by me and we can head in together and meet those coming from the south side. If anyone knows any other site's they'd like to hit in that general vicinity pipe up and let us know, like Tim said we can make a day of it!

Hello again,
I am interested in going. I don't know what time you were thinking about going during the day, but I am free most Saturdays after 1pm (I have a class from 11-1 until March 24th), but if you are waiting for the snow to officially be gone and not come back, should we try some weekend day in April? Maybe after Easter...

That sounds like a great trip. I'd love to go. I have a couple weekends free in both March and April. I can't do during the week.

Kristen,
Lets plan this for next Sunday or the following Sunday. I have a van that can seat up to 7. I will go into the city and meet with everyone and pick people up and then we will go to a few of the cemeteries. maybe we could meet up about 10am..
First we will do Graceland..this is where Inez Clark is buried...and has the "Eternal Silence" statue
Then we will go to The Bohemian National...they have many of the Eastland disaster people buried under a communal plot and they have the statue "The grim reaper"...
Then we will go out to Mt Carmel and see Julia Petta, Al Capone..I know where all the gangster graves are also.
Somewhere along the way, we will do lunch.

Tim,
Sounds good to me so either the 4th or the 11th your saying? I mean if we're doing Bartonville the 3rd we should make sure people want to do or are available for a double bagger weekend know what I mean? Unless you were refering to this Sunday? I've been to Graceland before as well and all my pic's came out just fine of Eternal Silence and haven't been able to get anything out of Inez although I have gone several times in hopes of getting something. So yeah let me know which weekend you were refering to and anyone else who's intrested in going along post here or drop Tim and myself an email so we know who's all going and how to work out the driving.

Anyone that would be intrested in hitting Rosehill Cemetery, Graceland Cemetery, Mt. Carmel & Queen of Heaven this Saturday please let me know. We figured we could do an all day thing. Again we want to make sure that those who have already aranged to have Sat off from work didn't do so in vain. If we decide that Bartonville is def. off for this weekend we want to make sure that we have something to take it's place. If you are intrested in going please post here or email me at RamaDama79@Aim.Com so we can work out the driving and such.

Alright everyone! I guess it's time to fine tune the plans for Saturday. I suggest those who have access to a car we should meet at Mt. Carmel at 1:30 pm. Those who are coming from the city and don't have a car I can fit aside from myself 3 others comfortably in my car. Now...... I'm not that familiar with the train lines so maybe you all can help me out. The nearest and easiet stop closest to me is the Franklin Park train station. If those who can get to there I can pick up at 12:58 pm (acording to the orange line coming from Union Station, if there's another line you'll be taking please let me know). From what I can tell on the Metra website it looks like you can take the Orange line (MD-W) from Union Station (this is the only station that I know and use so if you can get to Franklin Park station on another line or through another station please post here).
Doug,
Is there a way you might be able to meet me out by my apt then we can go to the station together in case we have more people that will need transportation? Let me know.
Sorry to all for the last min. changes. Thing's have been sooooo crazy at work that I haven't had much time to put this together. Any other suggestions as to travel please pipe up and let me know. Again I'm sorry for how messy this is being put together, I'm not normaly this bad just have to many projects going on at once lol

I'm still up for either place. However, I think we were going to wait another couple of weeks to do another investigation there. We froze our butts off out there! When we go to Bartonville it just needs to be known that we will not be able to enter the Bowen, the investigation would pretty much be the graveyard and I can run you guys through the tunnels. If a cop catches us, hopefully they are as cool about it, otherwise I'm toast
