Hi all:
So as some of you have read in an earlier post, I purchased another Digital Recorder that is NOT my Ipod but still Mac compatible (an Olympus WS-210S). This unlike my Ipod has *6* recording modes (Ipod had two). Obviously the higher the quality, the less recording time/battery life.
The question I am wondering about with all of have used digital recorders, can you tell me which speed is best for both sound quality and battery life? Have most of you gone with like a middle speed? Please let me know what your thoughts are!
Thanks! --Cece

Hello Cece, The speed refers to the sampling rate and not the speed. Some guidelines for recording that I found out to be helpful:
If the unit has the high speed, then the top speed is 44.1 kHz which is like a CD.
The middle speed is 22 kHz which sounds like a FM broadcast which is still pretty good.
The low speed is 8.0 kHz which sounds like a cheap cassette player or a AM broadcast.
Hope this helps, Robert
